Los Angeles Bucket List
I’ve lived in Los Angeles since fall 2008, which was my sophomore semester of college. I transferred to USC from Syracuse University in upstate New York after my freshman year. Now that I’m almost finishing up my four years here in LA, I’ve decided to make a bucket list and complete at least one item every weekend leading up to my move back to the Bay Area in July. I’ve really grown to love Los Angeles, but I’ve only got four more months to enjoy it. Every good thing comes to an end, right?
1. Cruise Mulholland Drive
2. Take a walking tour of downtown
3. Korean BBQ in Koreatown
4. Karaoke bar in Koreatown
5. See Bruce Springsteen live
6. Star gaze/watch the sunset at Griffith Observatory
7. Explore all museums in Exposition Park
8. Museum of Tolerance
9. Cold War artifacts museum in Culver City
10. Take a mural tour
11. Take a gang tour
12. Eat on Olvera Street and dance to mariachi
13. Take a photo with people in MacArthur Park who make money off of taking Polaroid photos
14. Eat soul food/listen to jazz in Leimert Park
15. Read at a dog park and play with dogs (I miss my dogs more than anything)
16. Wander Griffith Park
17. Bike from Venice Beach to Hermosa Beach
18. Venice canal walk
19. Six Flags
20. Annenberg Space for Photography
21. Catalina Island
22. Angel’s Flight
23. Tour Walt Disney Concert Hall
24. Study in the central library
25. Dodgers/Giants game
Got any suggestions? Or would care to join on any of these expeditions? Let me know!
I was also thinking of making a bucket list for the end of the CY year…I am definitely in:) I would add, hike to the Hollywood sign, surf or learn to swim, watch a movie in a LA drive-in theater, in-door skydiving:)
I’ve hiked to the HW sign, but that doesn’t mean everyone on the team has! Let’s do it all by CY graduation!
Hey! I’m a Trojan too. I interned with City Year in Spring of 2011, and I’m currently applying for the Peace Corps as well. I wish I had done a lot of the things on your list before I left LA.
Best of luck to you! Fight On!!
That’s great to hear! Similar experiences and I’m sure you know all the CY staff I know. It would be awesome if we crossed paths in the Peace Corps. Good luck with the application process and keep fighting on! π
